Held annually from June 20th to 24th, this celebration transforms the city into a lively hub of art, tradition and fun. These creations, depicting satirical and sometimes funny scenes, are scattered throughout Alicante. The festival's all about burning useless objects at the summer solstice. During these days, the city is filled with light, colour, music and fireworks. The event kicks off with the Proclamation and the "Planta," when bonfires and lots of different monuments are placed around the city – some of them get up to be 20 metres tall.The most anticipated moment of the festival is St John's Day, June 24th, when a purifying fire consumes the bonfires during an event known as the "Nit de la Crema." This spectacle is the perfect culmination of your visit, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Alicante's most cherished tradition.
