With 40 years of success in producing live variety shows, it's no wonder Benidorm Palace garners rave reviews and is voted best in the Costa Blanca year after year. The Palace's cabarets are the stuff of legend and feature world-class artistes performing the best of Spanish entertainment.

Your evening's extravaganza will be a combination of Las Vegas-style numbers, all sequins, feathers and glitter, and classic old-style cabaret theatre. Expect to be dazzled by the variety and quality of the entertainment. There's comedy, magic, West End and Broadway numbers – and the whole night is rounded off with an all-singing, all-dancing finale.

Performances are in a specially designed 1,660-seat auditorium, itself located in a glistening curved titanium building that'll remind you of Bilbao's Guggenheim Museum. It's dripping with glitz and glamour – so don your best evening wear and prepare to be swept up by the electric atmosphere.

On this full day tour, you'll have the chance to see the sights on a panoramic bus ride, then get the lowdown on a guided walking tour of the heart of the city. Martí, one of our local guides, says, ‘Valencia has really come out of the shadows in recent decades, and now stands shoulder to shoulder with Barcelona and Madrid in terms of art, culture and cuisine. Our old town, one of the largest in Europe, is packed with sights, with the Silk Exchange shining brightest of all.' You'll start off with a panoramic bus tour for an overview of the city and an explanation of some of the major sights. Once you leave the bus, you'll set off on a guided walking tour around the city. Your expert local guide will show you around, sharing local insight into the history and explaining some of the highlights. When the tour is over, you'll have free time to explore further, grab a bite to eat or browse the shops.The streets around Calle Colon, a modern boulevard, boast all kinds of stores – from global high street brands to luxury goods shops as well as the latest in technology. There are also smaller, original boutiques selling haute couture clothing. Martí adds, ‘If all that shopping tires you out, pop over to the art nouveau Colon Market. It's evolved into an epicurean food hall and is a go-to, not just for the nibbles but for the design of the building itself. It's a good spot to take a break at one of the cafés.'

If you're after a shot of authentic Spanish culture, then hop onboard a private bus from Benidorm to the laid-back seaside town of Villajoyosa. En route, you'll make a pit stop at the tranquil beach of Cala del Torres for photos by the cove. Breathe in to smell the pine and eucalyptus trees that fringe the beach here. Then it's on to Villajoyosa. The name means ‘The Joyful Town', and its collage of colourful coastal houses certainly reflect that. Alicante Hogueras de San Juan Festival

Welcome to the vibrant and colourful festival of Hogueras de San Juan, in Alicante. The festival's all about burning useless objects at the summer solstice. During these days, the city is filled with light, colour, music and fireworks. The event kicks off with the Proclamation and the "Planta," when bonfires and lots of different monuments are placed around the city – some of them get up to be 20 metres tall.The most anticipated moment of the festival is St John's Day, June 24th, when a purifying fire consumes the bonfires during an event known as the "Nit de la Crema."
