What to expect

This exclusive tour explores Tenerife's most dramatic inland areas. You'll venture in an eight-seater minivan through the otherworldly landscapes of Teide National Park, admire the panoramas from countless viewpoints and visit the ridge-top hamlet of Masca. Plus, there's traditional Canarian lunch on the menu, too. Arianne, one of our expert local guides, say, "I love guiding this tour because it's an overdose of nature, focusing on the island's volcanology, from the past to the present."

Your adventure kicks off by heading south into Teide National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – climbing through a dense pine forest. There's a pit stop at Chirche viewpoint, which often overlooks cloud-shrouded terrain below. The scenery around here is still bursting with greenery. But as we journey deeper into the national park, you'll encounter volcanic landscapes that could easily be on the moon, Venus or Mars. Desolate, rock-strewn badlands. A stop at Roques de Garcia allows you to take some pics near these iconic rock formations, with the volcano's cone in the background.

Grab a last look at the lava-scarred landscapes at Poleos viewpoint before dropping into a family-run restaurant for a lunch made from seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Rounding off the day is a visit to Masca – a hard-to-reach hamlet perched on a ridge in a deep volcanic gorge. Enjoy free time to poke around and take in the vistas.

Pointless driving all that way to Masca for a 40 minute stay. I was talked out of the cable car tour and told this was just as good. Did not go up high enough IMO.

The TUI rep told me the incorrect pick up point, hence we didn't get to go. You will hearing from me when I get back home

We really enjoyed our guide Crystal who spoke good English. The amount of stops that we stopped at was perfect and always had ample time to enjoy the sites. Possibly could have had different options for the lunch but it was okay to eat. There was a lady that fell over on our trip and Crystal was caring and kind. Felt safe the whole time. The information on the trip was amazing, we learnt so much during the tour and it all was interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience!

Thank you to our amazing guide Ivan, he was very informative and had a great sense of humour. The only disappointment was the meal, there was mention of plantanos for dessert but instead only had a tub of ice cream. Other than this the tour was amazing.
