The scenery changes dramatically next, as we journey through the laurel forest of Las Mercedes en route to Taganana. This whitewashed hamlet cascades down a slope in Anaga Rural Park. The afternoon features a scenic drive through the volcanic Anaga Mountains – a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve – stopping at the 360-degree viewpoint at Pico del Inglés and at Cruz del Carmen viewpoint.
