Fancy a trip to the serene Cíes Islands, known for both its fauna, flora and white sand beaches? You'll start your journey at the Maritime Station, where a two-deck catamaran awaits to whisk you away on a brief voyage to this mesmerising archipelago, one of Spain's most extraordinary natural parks. The archipelago comprises three islands, each offering a selection of four hiking trails. These paths lead you to various lighthouses, beaches and viewpoints, from which you can admire the rich ecology and arguably one of Europe's finest bays.
Your ferry will dock at Monteagudo Island (also known as North Island), which is connected to Faro Island (or Middle Island) by a breakwater or Rodas beach - a titleholder of The Guardian's 'best beach in the world'. Once you've set foot on the island, depending on the season, an informative guided tour may be included, or you might prefer to discover the splendour of the Maritime-Terrestrial Atlantic Islands National Park at your own pace.
Whether you choose to take a dip in the crystal clear waters, lose yourself in the cries of the seagulls or simply savour a refreshing drink under the sun, it's entirely up to you!
